All-on-4 implants can reinvent your smile.

Especially if you have lost a number of teeth or are fed up with dentures or bridgework that feels uncomfortable.

What is the All-on-4 dental implant system?

The All-on-4 implant system facilitates the placement of a whole row of teeth by using just 2-4 implants instead of a single implant for each tooth in need of replacement.

The implants are positioned at specific pre-determined angles within the most volume-rich areas of the jaw. This angling technique means fewer implants need to be used, as your dentist will harness the strength and stability of isolated areas of the jawbone.

Why choose All-on-4 dental implants?

A new set of teeth in just one day

No, this isn’t an exaggeration or a gimmick. With an All-on-4 implant, it’s possible to get a new set of teeth in just one appointment. Following your implant surgery day, you will be given a new set of temporary teeth to wear. After the healing process of 3-9 months, these are replaced with your permanent teeth.

You will have a set of teeth throughout the whole process

One of the biggest factors deterring patients from seeking treatment to replace old or damaged bridges and dentures is the prospect of going toothless for weeks or months.

All-on-4 tackles this problem by providing patients with a set of teeth right after surgery. This is a huge confidence booster and motivational factor for going ahead with treatment.

No limitations when you speak and eat

Having the freedom to eat without the anxiety that your dentures will make an unwelcome exit from along your gum line should be something all of our patients experience.

With All-on-4 dental implants, this becomes a reality. You will be able to bite down on any food you like without feeling scared that your dentures will dislodge. Your speech clarity will also significantly improve, especially if you are undergoing full mouth reconstruction with All-on-4 implants.

Maintain your jawbone structure

All-on-4 implants are placed directly into the jawbone. This protective and preventive technique ensures your jawbone doesn’t recede and causes structural changes to your lower face. This is a common issue with unsupported traditional dentures; as the jawbone shrinks, the dentures no longer fit, and the lower jaw changes shape to look aged.

95%+ success rate

The implant systems we use are supported by decades of research and testing, so it’s no wonder the success rate is so high for our patients. We use the Sweden & Martina, Straumann and Neodent implant systems.

Your All-on-4 implants journey

Step 1: Consultation

Your full consultation is when we will explain the treatment and take CBCT scans, X-rays and photographs of your mouth and jaw. We will present you with a treatment plan in the days after your consultation if you are eligible for treatment.

Step 2: Implant placement

Dental implants are placed under local anaesthetic by an Implant Dentist. This process takes approximately 1-2 hours. Once your implants have been placed in the jaw, the healing period will begin right away. During this time, the jawbone grows around the implants, treating them as if they were a real tooth root.

Step 3: Tooth design

Your fixed bridge is designed using the digital impressions and photographs we took of your teeth during the planning stages of treatment. Your dentist will consult with you about the shade you wish your new teeth to be and show you a mock-up of how your new teeth will appear when they are screwed into the implants.

Step 4: Permanent teeth

Your permanent teeth are ready to be fitted after the jaw has fully integrated with the implants.

FAQs

Are All-on-4 implants permanent?

The implants themselves have the potential to be a permanent answer to tooth loss, lasting for 30+ years within the jaw. The biggest threat to your implants is peri-implantitis, a version of gum disease that affects implants only. Regular hygienist appointments, cleaning around your implants correctly and stopping smoking will help your implants stand the test of time.

Am I suitable for All-on-4 dental implants?

A consultation with our professional dentists in Derby will establish if you are a good candidate for dental implants. Your general medical background and oral health will need to be assessed.
